Fallin’ for Frida: Isola’s favorite aperitivo spot

She’s friendly, full of character, and serves up some mighty fine food. Her name is Frida, and she’s about to be your new best friend.

Situated behind a graffitied wall in Isola, Frida sits pretty. Everyone loves her, and she’s always surrounded by Isola’s hippest residents.

She welcomes visitors to her patio, which is situated around a living wall covered in vines and greenery.

Colorful mismatched tables give a retro-style welcome to guests sitting indoors.

Frida’s cocktail list is vast, the drinks strong, and the prices extremely reasonable. And while that is reason enough to pay her a visit, the real highlight is the aperitivo.

Expect to see squares of foccacia, meatballs, quiche, cuts of salami, and potatoes. But consider yourself warned: although the potatoes don’t look like much, you’ll be returning for seconds, thirds, fourths, and possibly fifths.

And while most places hike up their drink prices during Italian happy hour, Frida doesn’t – despite having one of the best aperitivos in Isola. So make Frida a priority when you’re in the neighborhood – and eat as many potatoes as you like.

Address: Via Pollaiuolo, 3
